To The World! I today celebrate my 1-Month Anniversary of
for Dead
Man's Bones!
Let's Calibrate this joyous FACT in style by me, Vrind Les, being
back in touch w/ old pal Vrind Lex!
Aka Alex Kooistra. Special aka Prof. Visvogel.
Fab friend(ship), v. unique fella! We first bump'd into one&other
@ D'r
Gaat Nix Boven Minerva. Who, btw,
have one ruddy fugly website! Both of us were there
busy attacking graphic design in our own wicked ways. Yet
mutual professors somehow saw it appropriate to single me
ouch for my creative colleague as THE
example of a 'young dog that goes about his recalcitrant designing
ways in the right unfashion.' Oh, such nerve!
Re-Lex!
Needless 2 say we both soon quit that Groninger Academy, &
instead hung out/worked together a lot in 1992-94...
'Corpus Interruptus' art collective (w/ Mandrake,
of course!), discotheque murals/plafondals, Halloween party
design, art expo'ing, enz. ... Alex, of course, these days's
still @ it in Leeuwarden/ Friesland/
The North, having made quite a name for himself —while
I, off course, faded into roblivion; 1st in Arnhem, &
eventually in da land of golden opportunity & adventure.

Earlier Today I Asked DanWas) —of Sartain fame— if, w/ 'is 7"single releases of recent times, we could "now expect a whole album some time soon? 'Dan Sartain L!VES', or something along other groovy lines?" And I quote:
Dan:Was) Yeah man, I have a bunch of stuff to release, but it's
taking a while to compile it all. A live DVD with some other shit on it (still waiting on approval to use some of the stuff shot by other people), a second audio disc with a bunch of
home recordings (some of which I like better than my studio recordings), B-sides, and other as yet unreleased recordings from 2001-present.
And of course the new record, which I finished last week at Toe-rag studios in London. I'm just waiting to get the mixes back from Liam.
It's getting harder, and harder to sell an album the old fashioned way, so we are really trying to put something together worth buying.
The record label has asked me if I would be so kind as to die, due to the fact that a dead artist sells way more "units" than a living one. I politely declined this request, and opted
to do all of this instead.
Got to go now, the brakes on my car have been feeling squishy lately, and I need to have them checked out.
Rob: Hmm, 'Dead Sartain' coulda've released 'Atheist Funeral', then. And 'LiVES!'
(posthumo[r]us) would be a perfect fit, too —needless to say feat. yet another album cover feat you killing yourself. (Guillotine,
anyone?)
Maybe you should fake your own R.i.P. (Alice could help you out), like that Moonwalker dude, but @ some time then 'Rise from the Ashes for the Ca$hes'?
Dan: hahaha!!
R: "May I quote you on dead?"
D:
Well Im no Groucho Marx, but quote away
R: Quonsider it dan!
So:
Heard it here 1st, folks —courtesy of The Dan himself! Stay tuned, meanwhile gettin' 'em 7 inches if you 'aven't already...

For Today, I found me some DMB(! And that on the day my
American Gothic DVD set just arrived --One-season of one of the greatest TV series

Oh, Move Over,: Matthews & Co., 'cos I sure sirree ain't talkin' 'bout that you and yours
lot! Instead, I had the distinct pleasures of stumblin' 'pon someones named 'Dead Man's Bones' ("sort of like Damon Albarn meets Tim Burton making serious
music inspired by children" aka "Disney haunted mansion, doo wop and 60s girl groups"), cheerstesy (TM) of Anti-/Amazon! Und wie Ich have mentioned before (pretty
darn sure), usually I am aeons late making any kinds of similarly delightful discoveries; in general, in fact, I heavily seclude myself from what passes for modern
'culture'/'entertain'ment. Matter of fact, I am still irked like heck that I actually am aware MJ OD'd on the un-healed world some time earlier this year! Anyway, but, still, yet this
time 'round I totally accidently caught on pretty early, if I may say so/for whatever that ain't worth. And also if I mayn't say so, but.

corrupt ole broken system that 'they' are desperately trying to fix simply must come down (Oy, nuttin' new: I still remember I used to see
